Teller

HOUSTON, TX

SUMMARY:

 Assists with the workflow of the teller line, reporting functions, and assisting with Bank Secrecy Act compliance.

 ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ensures that the teller line image is favorable, reflecting a sound and secure financial institution that employs prudent housekeeping procedures, safety measures, and provides a pleasant atmosphere for members, including privacy, confidentiality, and ease of use.  

 Complete accurate member transactions after thoroughly verifying their identity and in accordance with Credit Union written procedures.

 Must be proficient at creating and working Contact Managers. Daily follow up of the CM queue is crucial to member service.

 Cross selling is crucial to the credit union’s success. Must be proficient at producing referrals and analyzing member needs to provide the appropriate services.

 Must be trained and retain knowledge on all credit union products and services to professionally and efficiently assist members. Must have complete working knowledge of Financial Activity and Member Information sections of Portico.

 Maintain daily contact with supervisor(s) providing support, input, feedback, and guidance concerning daily teller operations.

 Be proficient at carrying out Service Center procedures. Keep up with all aspects of Service Center policy changes.

 Serve as a second verification for vault cash. Assist the Branch Manager with receiving cash shipments

 Process operations reports including open/close, shared branching, and other admin back-office reports as needed.

 Performs such other functions that might be needed from time to time and assists others to complete tasks and work assignments.

 Responsible for compliance of all Federal and State rules and regulations pertaining but not limited to Bank Secrecy Act, Anti-Money Laundering, Bank Bribery Act, OFAC, NCUA Privacy Regulations, Reg DD, Reg D, Reg E, Reg CC, Reg Z, Reg B, Service Members Civil Relief, FCRA/FACTA, and Right to Financial Privacy Act.

 Performs such other functions that might be needed from time to time and assists others to complete tasks and work assignments.

 Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions

 Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as interest, rates, percentages, ratios

 Ability to read, analyze and interpret instructions, procedures, and regulations

 Two years PC experience including word, excel, and other Microsoft applications

 Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations

 Knowledgeable about the credit union system, its structure, common language and acronyms, philosophy, and the credit union’s mission statement
